Man dies after falling into river in Halden
A 75-year-old man died on Saturday after falling into a river in Halden, southeastern Norway, according to a report by Dagbladet, citing Øst Police District.
The man, a local resident, was recovered from the Tista River near Tista shopping centre at around 5:28 PM. Emergency services, including two helicopters, responded to the scene. Operations manager Pål Bjelland confirmed at the time that the man had been pulled from the water and that life-saving first aid was underway.
Police have notified the man’s next of kin and are treating the incident as an accident.
