A thief broke into Lindroos jewellery store in central Helsinki on Saturday, making off with three luxury watches, reports Finnish public broadcaster Yle. Police are investigating the incident as aggravated theft.

The burglary took place at the store’s Kämp Galleria location on Mikonkatu street. The perpetrator smashed a display window to access a watch case, according to store director Antti Keisu. The break-in was discovered around 4:30 PM on Saturday.

Police have not released further details, but Keisu confirmed the store will reopen once repairs to the damaged window and cleanup are complete. He expressed concern over rising vandalism in the area.

The incident follows another suspected aggravated burglary early Monday at Holmaston jewellery and watch store on Aleksanterinkatu, also in Helsinki’s city centre.
