Three injured as aircraft engine explodes at car meet near Degerfors

Aircraft engine debris struck spectators after an explosion at a car enthusiast gathering in Svartå outside Degerfors on Saturday, leaving three people injured, Swedish public broadcaster SVT reports.

Witness Lucas Hollanti Nordin described the moment the engine detonated: “I started running and hid behind a truck.” He told SVT he was hit by metal fragments in the face during the blast.

Emergency services, including police and rescue crews, responded to the scene following the explosion. The extent of the injuries remains unclear.

The incident occurred at a hobbyist motor event where aircraft engines were reportedly being demonstrated.
