New booking system implemented by Strandfaraskip landsins reduces ferry ticket prices on Suduroy route

Friday 26th 2024 on 10:23 in
Faroe Islands

The new booking system introduced by Strandfaraskip landsins for most island routes has led to significant changes in ferry ticket prices. Creating an account on the new system offers several advantages.

For instance, if you register and book a vehicle spot on the Suduroy route, a one-way ticket will cost 96 DKK. Conversely, if you do not have an account in the SSL system, the price rises to 112.50 DKK. If you decide to board with your vehicle without a reservation, the same one-way ticket will cost you 127.50 DKK.

“This is a necessary change,” said Regin Toftegaard, the project leader for the booking system.

The booking system is applicable on the following island routes:

– 7 – Tvøroyri – Tórshavn
– 36 – Sørvágur – Mykines
– 56 – Klaksvík – Kalsoy
– 66 – Sandur – Skúvoy
