Rainy weekend anticipated in Eastern Norway with activities to consider
Much of Eastern Norway is expected to experience varying weather conditions during the first part of the weekend, with considerable rainfall forecasted. While rainy days are often seen as a deterrent to outdoor activities, there are still plenty of options to keep busy. Visiting amusement parks, cinemas, theaters, or museums can be enjoyable even when it’s wet outside.
Tom Harald Hansen, chairman of the Norwegian Trekking Association in Lillehammer, insists that rain should not stop people from hiking. He emphasizes the importance of outdoor activities regardless of the weather, stating that proper rain gear is essential. He notes a strong interest in outdoor life, suggesting that many people embrace the weather as part of their planned adventures.
For those who prefer staying indoors, going to a movie can be a great alternative. Attendance at cinemas tends to rise on rainy days, providing a distinctive atmosphere compared to watching films at home. Similarly, visiting a theater or a museum can add variety to the rainy day experience. Many theaters feature summer performances and there are museums offering both indoor and outdoor activities.
Camping overnight is another option for the adventurous, as long as one is well-prepared with a quality tent and sleeping bag. Canoeing or kayaking can be enjoyable activities too, as they allow participants to embrace the water element.
Ultimately, if braving the rain doesn’t appeal, there’s always the excitement of the upcoming Summer Olympics in Paris, with the opening ceremony set for July 26.
