Danish agency confirms second pony killed by wolf in two weeks
The Danish Nature Agency has determined that a pony found dead in Egtved, southern Denmark, was killed by a wolf—marking the second such attack in the area within two weeks.
According to Christian Qvortrup of the Nature Agency, bite marks and tooth punctures on the carcass confirm the predator was a wolf. The pony, which was approximately two weeks away from giving birth, is believed to have been attacked during the night leading into Wednesday.
The incident follows a similar case two weeks earlier, when another pony in the same area was killed and partially eaten by a wolf.
