Norwegian police have concluded that Ragge Løkkeberg, a 61-year-old man missing since 2024, was killed, regional newspaper Glåmdalen reports.

“We believe Ragge Løkkeberg was murdered,” police inspector Henning Klauseie of the Innlandet police district told the paper. Løkkeberg was last seen in February 2024 and reported missing in October that year.

A Swedish insurance company first alerted Norwegian police in Kongsvinger after failing to contact Løkkeberg following a settlement. The Norwegian citizen had lived in Koppom, Sweden, but remained officially registered at an address in Grue, Norway.

In 2023, Løkkeberg’s Swedish home burned down—the third fire at the property. Swedish police closed the investigations without charges.

Klauseie confirmed new evidence has emerged but declined to specify details. “We are confident the death resulted from homicide,” he said. Multiple witnesses have been questioned, though no arrests have been made, and Løkkeberg’s body has not been found.

Police urge anyone with information to come forward.
