The Faroese Maritime Authority will not release its conclusions about the grounding of the fishing vessel Pressarin in Sørvágsfjørður on 1 April, despite completing its investigation, national broadcaster Kringvarp Føroya reports.
Hans Johannes á Brúgv, director of the Maritime Authority, confirmed that while the case has been “sufficiently clarified to make a decision,” the outcome will remain internal. The authority has ruled out a formal marine accident inquiry and will not refer the matter to Denmark’s maritime compensation board.
The vessel ran aground near Skerhólmur in the evening of 1 April and sustained significant damage before being recovered in Sørvágur.
