Norwegian Woman Accidentally Invites 2,374 People to Her Wedding

A Norwegian woman planning to invite 200 guests to her wedding accidentally sent invitations to 2,374 people after a Facebook error, Dagbladet reports.

Jorunn Sørensen from Notodden intended to create a private group for her wedding guests but instead included everyone following her sewing shop, Snakk om å sy, as well as her band’s past clients and contacts. The mistake also allowed each invitee to bring a plus-one.

“I got a real guest shock,” Sørensen told the newspaper, laughing. She admitted the couple’s garden won’t accommodate everyone but joked that those left out could attend their silver anniversary instead.

The wedding is planned as a three-day festival with live music and food. “People know I never do anything halfway,” she said. Sørensen remains unsure how the error occurred but has spent the past week receiving messages from confused invitees.

Her fiancé, Bjørn Thore Andersen, and close family were among the few not accidentally invited—leaving them “a little annoyed,” she admitted.
