A magnitude 4.4 earthquake struck eastern Norway on Sunday morning, with the epicentre near Neskollen in Akershus, according to reports from Dagbladet.

The quake occurred at approximately 09:25 local time, shaking buildings across Oslo and surrounding areas. The Norwegian Seismic Array (Norsar) confirmed the event and is working to provide updated details on its website, jordskjelv.no.

Oslo Police District stated there were no immediate reports of injuries or significant structural damage. Emergency services have been alerted as authorities assess the impact.

“We are receiving a high volume of calls about a loud noise across Østlandet,” said police in Sør-Øst, based in Tønsberg. “We currently have no further information.”

Residents in Oslo, including staff at Dagbladet‘s offices in the Hasle district, reported feeling the tremor. Most reports have come from the Oslo region so far.

Norsar and emergency responders continue to monitor the situation.
