A man has been airlifted to hospital in critical condition following a three-vehicle collision in the Oslofjord Tunnel on Friday afternoon, Norwegian police report. The tunnel remains closed indefinitely, with nearby Vassum and Frogner tunnels also shut due to the incident.

According to Dagbladet, emergency services responded to the crash shortly before 2:30 PM local time. Police operations leader Henrik Larsen confirmed three vehicles were involved, including a motorcycle, and described the accident as “serious.”

The injured man received initial first aid at the scene before being transported by air ambulance. “He was conscious but in critical condition,” Larsen stated. As of 3:00 PM, police had not provided updates on the extent of his injuries.

Investigators believe the collision involved a head-on impact. “The tunnel will remain closed for some time,” operations leader Ronny Hellerud Samuelsen told reporters, adding that authorities are reconstructing the sequence of events.

No further details about the cause or additional casualties have been released.
