A head-on collision between two passenger trains near Hillerød has left between five and ten people injured, North Zealand Police report.

The accident occurred on the Gribskov line at Kagerup, where emergency services have launched a major response. Authorities have closed the track in both directions at Helsingevej, with no immediate estimate for when normal service will resume.

Josephine Schack Thorsen, a reporter for Danish broadcaster DR at the scene, described the collision as severe, with debris scattered around the area and seats inside the carriages overturned.

Tim Ole Simonsen, spokesperson for the Copenhagen Emergency Services, confirmed multiple injuries but stated no passengers were trapped and all had been evacuated from the site.

Replacement bus services have been introduced between Hillerød and Tisvildeleje, as well as between Hillerød and Kagerup.
