Faroese wage negotiations resume with 3.87% baseline increase
Wage negotiations across the Faroese labour market are set to restart after being paused since the general election, public broadcaster Kringvarp Føroya reports. The baseline wage adjustment for 12 unions in the general labour market stands at 3.87% this year, though final pay rises may vary once individual agreements account for cost-related provisions.
Súni Selfoss, chair of the Workers’ Union (Starvsfelag), and Finance Minister Ruth Vang signed the initial framework agreement. Negotiations will now proceed union by union to determine exact wage increases for each worker, with draft collective bargaining agreements expected to be presented next week.
The 3.87% figure represents a general wage adjustment, but actual raises could differ as some cost-driven clauses may reduce the final percentage for certain groups.
Twelve unions have reached an agreement on the baseline adjustment. Further details will emerge as individual negotiations conclude.
