Tampere University of Applied Sciences faces second strike warning from education union
The Trade Union of Education in Finland (OAJ) has issued a second strike warning to Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK), public broadcaster Yle reports. The warning comes as labour disputes over collective agreements in the university of applied sciences sector remain unresolved.
The strike is set to begin on Thursday, 7 May. According to the OAJ, the employer organisation Sivista has proposed cuts to the existing collective agreement covering pay and working conditions for staff at universities of applied sciences.
The union states it is taking action to defend wages and employment terms for personnel in the sector. Earlier industrial action at TAMK took place in April, with staff participating in walkouts over the same dispute.
No further details on the scope or duration of the planned strike have been released.
