Large stray dog kills poodle in Joensuu forest attack, police seek witnesses
Police in eastern Finland are investigating after a large stray dog fatally attacked a poodle in Joensuu’s Utra district on Tuesday afternoon, Yle reports.
The incident occurred around 3:30 PM when the 10-year-old poodle, out for a walk with its owner, was suddenly attacked by a dog that emerged from the woods. The poodle died at the scene from bite wounds. The attacker, described as a large, grey-black-brown dog with erect ears and weighing over 30 kg, was wearing a collar but fled into the forest after the attack.
