Valmet Automotive resumes production and recalls laid-off workers after new partnership
The Valmet Automotive plant in Uusikaupunki, Finland, will begin serial production of buses in a new partnership with Carrus Delta, with operations set to launch later this year, reports Finnish news agency STT.
According to Valmet Automotive CEO Pasi Rannus, the collaboration will have “significant employment effects,” including the return of currently laid-off workers. Earlier this year, the company also announced a separate agreement with Jeti Industries to manufacture electric buses.
The move marks a revival for the plant, which had previously reduced operations due to lower demand.
