Meteor shower peaks tonight offering best chance to see shooting stars
The Lyrid meteor shower will reach its peak tonight, providing the best opportunity this week to spot shooting stars, according to the astronomical association Ursa.
While Lyrid meteors have been visible in the sky throughout the week, tonight offers the most favourable conditions for observation. The association recommends beginning observations after 11 PM local time.
Visibility will be better the further south the observer is located in Finland. Under ideal conditions in southern parts of the country, a few shooting stars per hour may be seen.
