Atlantic Airways raises ticket prices due to unstable fuel market
The Faroese airline Atlantic Airways has announced it will increase ticket prices due to an unstable fuel market, despite having secured most of its fuel supply, Faroese Broadcasting Corporation (KVF) reports.
Faroese travellers face uncertainty as tensions in the Middle East disrupt fuel availability and pricing for airlines. While Atlantic Airways has locked in prices for the majority of its fuel, the volatile situation has forced the carrier to raise fares.
The airline primarily purchases fuel in Tórshavn and Billund but operates direct flights from the Faroe Islands to 12 destinations, in addition to charter tours, requiring fuel from various locations. The company has not specified the extent of the price increase.
