Fire breaks out in Joensuu apartment building as emergency services deploy 11 units

A fire has broken out in a residential apartment building in central Joensuu, with emergency services working to extinguish the blaze, Finnish public broadcaster Yle reports.

The fire was reported at 8:55 AM local time in a building on Merimiehenkatu street. Eleven emergency response units are currently on the scene, and firefighting efforts remain ongoing.

According to the property manager and emergency services, there are no reports of injuries at this time. The fire is contained to a single apartment in the multi-storey building.
