Schools in Borlänge closed due to potential violence threat
All schools in Borlänge will remain closed on Wednesday following a “potential threat of violence,” the municipality announced in a press statement.
A total of 15 preschools, primary schools, and upper secondary schools are affected by the closure, first reported by Aftonbladet. Municipal director Jörgen Olsson stated that the decision was made as a proactive measure to ensure safety.
“Our focus is to guarantee a secure environment for our students and staff. While we await further clarification of the situation, we have chosen to close selected schools,” Olsson said.
The municipality has not provided additional details about the nature of the threat or when the schools are expected to reopen.
