Housing agency Bústaðir may take over Skúlaheimið in Tórshavn
The Faroese public housing agency Bústaðir is considering taking over operations of Skúlaheimið, a residential facility in the capital Tórshavn, after current operator Glasir announced plans to withdraw, reports Kringvarp Føroya.
Jógvan Ósá, director of Bústaðir, confirmed the agency has expressed preliminary interest but stressed it is too early to confirm a decision. “We have some reservations and have requested operational tools from Glasir over the past five years,” Ósá said. Bústaðir has also conducted an on-site assessment of Skúlaheimið, though the building’s condition remains unclear.
Glasir, the current operator, has formally indicated it wishes to cease managing the facility.
