Small parties in Faroese parliament secure committee seats

The Faroese Broadcasting Corporation (KVF) reports that smaller parties in the Faroese parliament, the Løgting, have been allocated several seats on parliamentary committees, securing seven out of 45 positions.

Steffan Klein Poulsen, leader of the Centre Party (Miðflokkurin), received two committee seats. Jenis av Rana, also of the Centre Party, will serve on the Foreign Affairs Committee, while Poulsen will join the Justice Committee and the Labour Committee.

Bjarni Kárason Petersen of the Progress Party (Framsókn) was assigned to the Foreign Affairs Committee and the Culture Committee, while his party colleague Ruth Vang will sit on the Finance Committee.

Sámal Petur í Grund of the Self-Government Party (Sjálvstýri) was appointed to the Welfare Committee.
