Two elderly people found drowned in Kuusamo’s Välijärvi lake

Two elderly individuals have been found dead in the Välijärvi lake area in Kuusamo, northern Finland, according to a report by national broadcaster Yle citing the Oulu Police Department.

Authorities are investigating the incident as an accidental drowning. Police received a report late Monday evening, after 10 p.m., that an elderly couple had gone missing from their holiday home in Kuusamo. Following an overnight search, their bodies were discovered early Tuesday morning.
