The Faroese town of Runavík is celebrating its annual cultural week with 188 events across 15 villages, culminating in a sold-out concert series by Norwegian artist Sissal Kirkjubø, Kringvarp Føroya reports.

From art exhibitions and lectures to guided hikes, films, concerts, and discussions, the festival offers activities for all age groups, according to Petur Hansen, chair of the municipality’s cultural committee. “There is plenty to choose from,” Hansen stated.

Highlights include church concerts by Guðrið Hansdóttir, Eyðun Nolsøe, and the duo Lív & Tróndur, as well as a pilgrimage hike from Rituvík to Lambareið and a coastal walk along Eysturoy’s eastern shore. The festival also features a debate on the Faroese language, a community breakfast, and the headline concert in Løkshøll, where Kirkjubø will perform six sold-out shows on Friday and Sunday.

The full programme is available on the municipality’s website.
