Swedish savings expert Günther Mårder appeals detention order

Swedish financial commentator Günther Mårder has appealed a district court’s decision to detain him on suspicion of aggravated insider trading, Dagens Nyheter (DN) reports.

Mårder’s lawyer argues that the district court made an incorrect assessment in its Friday ruling, stating that there is “no risk” of Mårder tampering with evidence or obstructing the investigation if released. The appeal, obtained by DN, will now be reviewed by the Svea Court of Appeal.

Mårder denies the allegations but may remain in custody with restrictions for up to two weeks while the appeal is processed.
