Finnish tax returns can still be amended after the deadline
Finnish taxpayers can supplement or correct their tax returns even after the official filing deadline has passed, according to the Finnish Tax Administration, Yle reports.
The final submission dates for this year’s tax returns vary, with around two million taxpayers facing a deadline of Tuesday, 23 April. For others, the cutoff was a week earlier, while the last group has until 28 April. However, amendments remain possible beyond these dates until the tax assessment is finalised.
Päivi Ylitalo, senior inspector at the Tax Administration, confirmed that corrections can be made until the tax decision is issued. The exact end date for amendments can be checked in the OmaVero online service once the pre-filled tax return deadline has expired and the assessment is complete.
Each additional correction extends the processing period, allowing multiple updates if needed. The final opportunity to amend tax details without formal objections expires at the end of October. After that, changes can only be requested through a formal rectification claim.
