Faroese royal monopoly store to become visitor centre
The former royal monopoly store in Tvøroyri will be transformed into a visitor centre as part of a pilot project, local broadcaster Kringvarp Føroya reports.
The municipal council in Tvøroyri has approved the plan, which involves a partnership with Ansgar Sørensen to convert the historic building—known locally as Gamli kongaliga einahandilin—into a space where visitors can purchase coffee and light refreshments. The project will also include collaboration with NB Consulting on tourism guidance and event planning.
The initiative is currently framed as a trial, with no fixed end date specified.
