Sweden announces new 70 million kronor aid package for Lebanon

The Swedish government has approved a second aid package for Lebanon worth 70 million kronor (approximately €6.2 million), according to public broadcaster SVT Nyheter. Aid Minister Benjamin Dousa (Moderate Party) confirmed the decision in an interview with Swedish Radio’s Ekot program.

Most of the funding will be allocated to the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) and the UN World Food Programme (WFP), both operating in Lebanon.

Explosion damages residential building in Malmö

A powerful explosion rocked a residential area in southeastern Malmö shortly after 3 AM on Sunday, blowing a hole in the facade of an apartment building. The blast was heard across large parts of the city, according to regional newspaper Sydsvenskan.

Finnish racer killed in multi-car crash at Nürburgring

Finnish driver Juha Miettinen died in a mass collision at Germany’s Nürburgring circuit on Saturday. Six other drivers were injured in the crash, though none sustained life-threatening injuries, SVT Nyheter reports.
