Weather changes expected as winds shift in Iceland

Weather conditions in Iceland are set to change as winds shift to a northern direction today, generally remaining light. Showers are expected in the eastern part of the country, while the west may see afternoon rain or even heavier downpours.

Tomorrow, light rain is anticipated in northern regions, while areas south of the highlands will enjoy sunny breaks along with occasional showers at various locations. Calm weather with light showers is predicted for Saturday; however, a new low-pressure system approaching from the Greenland Sea is expected to bring southern winds and rain to the western areas by evening.

Temperatures during the day will be relatively mild across many regions, although it may feel cooler in the rain and off the eastern coast.
