Two people in Denmark have been charged with promoting terrorism by selling clothing featuring Hamas motifs and slogans, marking the first case of its kind in the country, reports Danish broadcaster DR.

The accused—a man and a woman—are alleged to have sold garments carrying messages and imagery supporting the militant group. Legal analyst Louise Dalsgaard of DR noted the case is unprecedented because it focuses on the content of the clothing itself rather than the destination of any profits from sales.

Previous cases involving financial support for terrorist organisations have typically centred on tracing funds. This prosecution, however, targets the dissemination of Hamas-affiliated messaging through merchandise.
