Finland’s grain harvest improved slightly last year, but remained near average
Finland’s grain harvest reached 3.4 billion kilograms in 2023, a modest increase from the previous year but still close to the long-term average, according to the Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke).
Significant variations were reported between farms. Spring and winter wheat, as well as oats, came closest to their yield potential, while rye, silage, and peas fell short. Silage fared the worst, with yields averaging only about half of their potential.
The data was published in a brief report by the Finnish news agency STT.
