Swedish financial figure Günther Mårder faces detention request

Swedish financial executive Günther Mårder has been formally requested for detention, according to a statement from Spotlight Group, where he serves as chairman, SVT Nyheter reports.

The reason for the detention request remains undisclosed. In its press release, Spotlight Group stated it “has no reason to believe this concerns Spotlight Group.”

Mårder previously held leadership roles as CEO of both Aktiespararna (the Swedish Shareholders’ Association) and Företagarna (the Swedish Enterprise trade organisation).

SVT Nyheter reports it has attempted to contact Mårder for comment.
