Odense museum acquires rare H.C. Andersen collection

Museum Odense has purchased a rare collection of original works by Danish author Hans Christian Andersen, including manuscripts and a dedication to poet Adam Oehlenschläger, DR reports.

The museum describes the acquisition as “literary world heritage” with significant research potential. The collection includes early handwritten documents by Andersen, one of Denmark’s most celebrated writers.

Museum officials have not yet disclosed further details about the contents or the terms of the acquisition.
