The Finnish Ministry of the Interior has published new instructions for handling drone observations, now integrated into the national 112 Suomi emergency app, emergency services agency Hätäkeskuslaitos announced on Tuesday.
The guidelines outline steps for the public if they receive an emergency alert about drones, discover a downed drone, or spot one in flight. Authorities will issue airspace threat warnings via the app as needed, using location data to target alerts to affected areas.
The move follows recent incidents in which several Ukrainian drones entered Finnish airspace unintentionally.
