The Faroese government will discourage employers from expanding the range of countries they recruit workers from in order to prevent radicalised Muslims from entering, employment minister Jacob Vestergaard has stated.

Speaking to public broadcaster Kringvarp Føroya, Vestergaard said the government intends to continue recruiting labour “only from countries we have long received workers from.”

The policy reflects an explicit aim to exclude Muslim migrants from the workforce, according to the minister’s remarks.
