A 25-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man have been charged with promoting Hamas and glorifying terrorism after selling clothing with pro-Hamas messages, Danish public broadcaster DR reports.

The pair were presented in a preliminary court hearing at Glostrup District Court on Tuesday. According to the charges, they operated webshops and social media accounts—including on Instagram and TikTok—selling garments that celebrated Hamas’ October 7, 2023, attacks.

One sweatshirt featured the text: “Two Year Anniversary. Two years ago God shed his light upon us. Glory to our heroes, glory to their legacy.” Another shirt displayed an image of an armed Hamas supporter with the words “October 7th Antifada.” Both defendants have pleaded not guilty.

DR’s investigation found the webshop remains active, with one of the sweatshirts mentioned in the charges still available for purchase in euros. The TikTok account is also still online, while the Instagram profile is no longer accessible. Ownership details of the website are concealed, but DR reports multiple links between the accused and the shop.

During the court appearance, one of the suspects wore a cap bearing the number 1987—the year Hamas was founded—which is also sold on the site.

The Copenhagen West Police, in cooperation with Denmark’s security service PET, arrested the duo at 7:30 AM following a prolonged investigation. Prosecutor Lasse Biehl stated that financial ties and other potential accomplices remain under scrutiny. The court granted a request to hold the hearing behind closed doors, citing ongoing investigative concerns.

Both individuals face additional charges of glorifying Hamas’ October 7 attack through the clothing designs.
