Three arrested on suspicion of murder after woman found dead in Oslo elevator

Three people have been arrested on suspicion of murder or accessory to murder after a woman in her 30s was found dead in an elevator in Oslo’s Grønland district, Dagbladet reports.

Police were alerted Saturday morning by emergency services to a lifeless woman in an elevator. She was declared dead at the scene, and authorities immediately treated the death as suspicious.

“A comprehensive investigation has now led police to treat this as a homicide,” Oslo Police District stated in a press release. The three suspects, all in their 30s and previously known to police, were detained without incident on Saturday afternoon and evening.

Investigators believe one or more of the suspects knew the victim. Authorities have not ruled out further arrests and continue to seek witness testimony or relevant information.

The suspects will appear in court for a custody hearing no earlier than Wednesday.
