A massive litter collection campaign launched this week in Denmark expects to gather 80 tons of waste, with over 200,000 participants—more than half of them children—joining the effort, reports national broadcaster DR.

The initiative, organised by the Danish Society for Nature Conservation, has mobilised volunteers across the country to clean up public spaces, beaches, and natural areas. Among the participants are Maggie and Mikkel, two of the many young volunteers taking part in what organisers describe as one of Denmark’s largest environmental actions.

If successful, the campaign would remove the equivalent of around 160,000 filled garbage bags from the environment, according to the organisers.
