Prosecutor seeks detention of suspect in terror plot case

A person has been formally requested to be held in pre-trial detention on suspicion of preparing a terrorist offence and participating in a terrorist organisation, Sweden’s Prosecution Authority announced on Monday.

The suspect was arrested on Friday, according to the authority. Prosecutor Carl Mellberg of the National Security Unit declined to comment on the case or specify which terrorist organisation may be involved.

A detention hearing is scheduled for Monday, with further updates expected as proceedings unfold.
