Norway braces for spring warmth with temperatures nearing 17°C
Norwegians can expect a significant rise in temperatures this weekend, with forecasts predicting highs of up to 17°C in some regions, Dagbladet reports.
“We can now say spring has truly arrived in the lowlands,” said duty meteorologist Sigrid Auganæs. The shift follows a week of mixed conditions, with early rain and cooler weather giving way to drier, warmer air by Sunday.
Western Norway will see a warm, mostly dry Monday before temperatures dip midweek, with Bergen potentially reaching 15°C by Sunday. Southern Norway starts with scattered showers and around 10°C, but skies will clear later in the week, offering “good chances for sunshine,” according to Auganæs.
Eastern Norway, including Oslo, is set to become the warmest region, with temperatures climbing toward 17°C by Sunday. Northern Norway will remain stable, with brief midweek showers and highs around 12°C in Tromsø, while Trondheim could approach 17°C by weekend’s end.
The warm spell follows a period of high-pressure stability in both eastern and northern regions, though a slight weakening early in the week may bring isolated showers to the east.
