Kuusamo grants noise permit for upcoming Episten festival at old golf course
The city of Kuusamo has informed Yle via email that the organizers of “Episten” have applied for and received the necessary noise permit for the event. The inaugural “Epäjohdonmukaisten tanssiaiset” held last year in Kuusamo generated discussion due to poor organization. This summer, the event is slated to take place at the old golf course starting next Thursday, but the organizers have yet to submit a usage permit application for the area. According to the city, there is urgency surrounding the permit application, as processing times can be affected by the scale of the event.
Ticket reservations for the three-day event have been open for several weeks already. Tickets for Episten range from €70 to €250, categorized for low-income attendees, well-to-do participants, and festival supporters. The festival’s website states that “times and attitudes are strict” and encourages attendees to “keep it as low-profile as possible this time.”
