Copenhagen hospital hosts event to honour siblings of seriously ill children
Denmark’s Rigshospitalet held a special event on Saturday to celebrate siblings of children with chronic or serious illnesses, recognising their role in supporting families during difficult times.
The “Super Cool Siblings Day,” as the hospital called it, aimed to acknowledge the contributions of healthy brothers and sisters while giving them insight into hospital life. According to organisers, around 33,000 children and young people in Denmark are diagnosed with a chronic or serious illness each year—conditions that impact entire families, not just the patient.
The event was part of an ongoing effort to involve siblings in the care process and provide them with support, the hospital stated.
