Faroese stone wall dismantled for Danish craftsmanship exhibition

A section of an old Faroese stone wall from Velbastaður has been carefully dismantled to be displayed at a craftsmanship event in Denmark, Kringvarp Føroya reports.

The stones will be used as part of the Faroese contribution to Skills DM, an annual competition for trades apprentices taking place in Hjørring, Jutland, from 22 to 25 April. The event will showcase traditional Faroese craftsmanship, with the organisation Hjálpirót leading the presentation.

The dismantled wall, originally located in Velbastaður, will be reassembled as part of the exhibition to highlight historic Faroese building techniques.
