Police were called to Jyväskylä Normal School’s upper secondary campus on Thursday morning following reports of a potential threat, according to Finnish broadcaster Yle. Authorities have since declared the situation resolved.

Multiple sources told Yle that a bullet or projectile may have been fired at the school’s windows earlier in the day. Unconfirmed reports suggested students were instructed to remain in locked rooms while police investigated. By midday, an announcement informed students that the incident was over, as observed by a Yle reporter at the scene.

Police confirmed in a statement at 12:35 PM that emergency services received a report of a person behaving threateningly on school grounds. Officers responded at 11:55 AM and detained one individual at the location. Authorities emphasized there was no ongoing danger to bystanders.

As of early afternoon, the school area remained calm, though two police vehicles were still present on the premises. Investigations into the incident continue.
