A Swedish man linked to a criminal network in Huddinge has been arrested in Thailand, according to reports from public broadcaster SVT Nyheter. The 30-year-old is wanted in connection with a high-profile 2020 murder case in Stockholm and has prior convictions for violent crimes.

The man was detained in Phuket after Thai authorities received intelligence about a “dangerous Swedish citizen” staying in the tourist-heavy province, local media reported. He was found in a “luxury apartment” and will face charges for overstaying his visa before being deported to Sweden.

Swedish investigators have tied him to a criminal network based in Huddinge, a municipality south of Stockholm. While never a suspect in the 2020 killing on Årstabron bridge—linked to gang conflicts—he is wanted for firearms violations after allegedly handling the murder weapon during efforts to locate and dispose of it following the shooting.

The man has previously been convicted of multiple serious violent offences in a Swedish district court.
