Golf course devastated by snow mold outbreak
A severe outbreak of snow mold has damaged large sections of a Danish golf course following heavy winter snowfall, reports DR.
The fungal disease has spread across the grass fairways, with course officials attributing the infestation to the unusually high snow accumulation over the winter months. The extent of the damage remains under assessment, but early reports suggest significant areas will require restoration.
Snow mold typically develops under prolonged snow cover, thriving in moist, cold conditions. Golf course managers now face the challenge of repairing the affected turf before the start of the playing season.
