Meteorologists declare spring has arrived after storm chaos
Norwegian meteorologists have announced the arrival of spring-like conditions after storm “Dave” caused widespread disruption across southern Norway over the Easter weekend, Dagbladet reports.
Vigilant meteorologist Julie Solsvik Vågan confirmed the shift in weather patterns, stating: “It will become more spring-like. I think everyone is relieved we won’t see another ‘Dave’ this week.” Gradual improvements began Monday, with much of the country expecting fair weather and daytime temperatures exceeding 10°C in southern regions by Tuesday.
Despite the daytime warmth, Vågan cautioned against prematurely switching to summer tires, warning of persistent nighttime frost risks. “Night frost could still hit southern Norway. Troms and Finnmark will remain colder than the rest of the country, with sub-zero temperatures expected overnight,” she added.
The transition follows a turbulent Easter weekend when storm “Dave” brought wind gusts up to 40 meters per second—classified as a severe storm—toppling trees, closing roads, grounding flights, and sending trampolines airborne. Red weather alerts have since been lifted, though residual winds may linger briefly.
