Approximately 400,000 people have signed a petition calling for the release of Paul Watson, currently detained in Nuuk.

Watson’s supporters have sent a letter in English to the Danish Ministry of Justice through the Captain Paul Watson Foundation’s website, urging them against extraditing Watson to Japan.

Individuals are encouraged to add their names to the petition and email the letter to the Ministry of Justice. They are also asked to organize protests at Danish embassies and provide financial support to assist in efforts to secure Watson’s release.

Paul Watson was arrested in the Greenlandic capital on Sunday and is being held until August 15. This ruling has been confirmed by the Greenlandic High Court. The Danish Ministry of Justice will decide whether Watson will be extradited to Japan.

Watson’s ship, the John Paul DeJoria, is currently anchored south of Nuuk.
