Easter weekend will bring no major surprises in Finland, with weather conditions aligning with typical early April patterns, according to Elias Paakkanen, a meteorologist at Finnish broadcaster Yle.

On Holy Saturday, southern Finland will see light rain and temperatures hovering just above freezing, while northern regions—including Northern Ostrobothnia and Kainuu—will enjoy sunshine with temperatures reaching around 10°C. Lapland will also be sunny but significantly cooler.

A storm named Dave is sweeping across the British Isles and Scandinavia, though its strongest winds will not reach Finland. Winds may pick up along the southern and southwestern coasts on Sunday evening but will remain below storm levels.

Rain is expected across much of the country on Sunday, with scattered showers in the afternoon and temperatures around 5°C. Some areas may see brief sunshine. In the evening, a rain band linked to Storm Dave will move northward, bringing sleet to southern and central Finland.

On Monday, a new rain front will arrive, with snow possible even at the latitude of Tampere. Paakkanen advises travelers in northern areas, such as Kainuu, to consider whether to return south in the morning or wait until later in the day if their vehicles are equipped with summer tires.

After Easter, high pressure will bring clearer skies, though no significant warm spell is expected. Nights will see frost, with daytime temperatures ranging from 5°C to 10°C. Paakkanen noted that while no late-winter cold snap is forecast, no major heatwave is on the horizon either.
