Ferry crossings cancelled due to incoming storm Dave
Fjord Line has cancelled Sunday’s ferry services between Hirtshals, Denmark, and Kristiansand, Norway, as storm Dave approaches southern Norway, Dagbladet reports.
“It’s the storm Dave that’s coming. Unfortunately, conditions won’t allow for sailing,” Kyrre Andresen, a spokesperson for Fjord Line, told Fædrelandsvennen.
The 09:00 departure from Kristiansand to Hirtshals and the return trip later Sunday afternoon have both been scrapped. However, the evening crossing is still scheduled to operate, though passengers should expect delays, according to the company. The ferry will continue onward to Stavanger and Bergen as planned.
Color Line, which also operates the same route, has not yet decided whether to cancel any departures. “We’re monitoring the weather closely, as the situation changes hourly. If a decision is made, it will be posted on our website,” said Erik Brynhildsbakken, a spokesperson for Color Line.
Storm Dave is forecast to hit western and southern Norway, as well as parts of eastern Norway, on Sunday. Authorities have issued red and orange extreme weather warnings for several regions.
